I feel I am learning so much that I am sure my brain will explode ... but it is so much fun I don't want to stop. :-)

Here are a few of the paintings I have done since the last time I updated my brush and camera spot.

Morphic Art

One day I was feeling bored and could not make up my mind what to do with some spare time I had managed to carve out for myself.

I sat playing with my painter programme and started pushing the colours around in one of my photographs and became absolutely engrossed in the process. When I eventuially pulled myself away from the computer I realised I had been doodling for a couple of hours.

The top picture I called 'Waiting for my Brother' and the other one 'Femininity'

Playtime Without the Mess.

This was from a photograph that we took in Cornwall Dec 2007. It was dark and drab with converging perspectives. A cut out in Adobe Photoshop allowed me to place it on a different sky that I cropped off another photograph. Then I worked on it in Corel PainterX.
The finishing coat was a digital coat of varnish
I was pleased with the result.

A poppy taken from the Painter Magazine was played with using the gloopy and the texturiser brushes. I love the vibrant colours of this one.

A real playtime here. I dabbed liquid ink blobs with ground trees and sky in mind. That was 1/3rd pale greens 1/3rd browns and black 1/3rd mauvey blue with a yellow sunblob.
Blenders and distortion brushes were used and the image hose added leaves and flowers once all the blending and distortion began to offer a suggestion of a woodland. I really had fun with this.

I caught this sunset in my rearview mirror and could not resist stopping in a layby to catch some

shots.

The flash and the lense hood are in the picture as too are the overhead wires.

I cleaned this up and then set to experimenting with the Painter program. I like the finished result so much I had a print done.

And here's a play session using airbrushes, blenders and distortion brushes. I just kept playing until I saw an image and then worked at it.

First Steps

This was one of the first excersises that I did. I had an old Wow Painter book with this in but had to use a mouse as I did not have a graphics tablet.

From the Beginning

I'm an untrained wannabe photographer/artist who has, since retirement from work, occasionally given in to the urge to pick up a camera or a brush/pencil.

Two great gifts have stirred me to make a little more of my efforts. The first being a digital camera (Canon EOS20D) and the second being a copy of Corel Painter for my PC.

This space will be my display board for some of the results of my playtime with these two fabulous items.
